Misrepresenting at the Monroe Community College
In October 2008 Aware Bear Computers, owned and operated by Andre Leite Alves, was caught lying at a job fair to make his “business” appear impressive. This job fair was held at the Monroe Community College in Rochester New York (8th of October, 11:00am to 1:00pm) and aims to provide students with various options for (part-time) employment.
One of the “companies” there was Aware Bear Computers which claims to do computer repair, computer recycling, wedding photography, and a whole range of other “services”. Unfortunately for Aware Bear Computers, this job fair they attended did not work out so well as the company and its owner were caught red handed using unauthorized material in the flyers it was handing out.
The printed brochures that were handed out contained an image of the famous Home Office of Stefan Didak but altered and modified (photoshopped) so that Andre Leite Alves was sitting at this impressive office setup. This led not only to legal action against Aware Bear and Andre Leite Alves but also the following blog post by Mr. Didak.
Actions like these make Andre Leite Alves a big liar and con-artist who pretends to have, or be involved in, what he has not and is not. Not only does this show how pathetic Mr. Leite Alves is but also how irresponsible and unreliable this “AwareBear Computers” must be. Misrepresentation of this magnitude indicates that Aware Bear Computers is a shabby operation run by someone with some serious esteem issues.
Andre Leite Alves claims to have 10+ years of “experience” and claims to be a B.S. graduate of RIT. class of 2001 (photography since Andre moonlights as a wedding photographer). But his “experience” has not been sufficient enough to know that stealing other people’s property and infringing on other people’s photographs is exactly the kind of thing that gets you in legal trouble and ends up destroying whatever minor and insignificant reputation you might have generated.
The advice that should go out to students that visit job fairs where this scam of a “company” and its owner, Andre Leite Alves, might be (mis)representing itself is that you should probably think twice about this because a reputation like that of Aware Bear would make anyone involved with that “business” look bad. Also, if Aware Bear is inherently and proven to be untrustworthy, irresponsible, and has a history of highly questionable business practices and a proven track record in lying, how certain would you be that your arrangement with them will gain you something.
