After the public exposure of Aware Bear Computer Repair being caught stealing images and infringing on copyrights a lot of e-mail started to arrive with information regarding the actual address where Aware Bear Computers and Andre Leite Alves operate from along with several requests for more information seeing as how other people also wanted to get those details.

It is not uncommon for con-artists and liars (like Andre Alves Leite) to use many different addresses or even make up addresses that do not even exist. It is their way of hiding from people and throwing up a smokescreen that allows them to conduct their questionable practices without being easily found.

In the case of Aware Bear Computers and Andre Leite Alves this must be even worse than with other con-artists because there isn’t even a P.O. box address (something that may very well be too expensive for Andre given that everything else he does appears to be done “El Cheapo” – from webhosting to the “services” offered). Registered letters to many of the mailing addresses used by Andre Leite Alves and Aware Bear Computers have been returned or otherwise found to be in error.

It sure makes you wonder just how legal or trustworthy Aware Bear Computers is when it needs to resort to using countless erroneous, or otherwise just blatantly fake, addresses”.

Aware Bear computers only has a single phone number (that is also listed as the fax number) and no real address. The cover story that Andre likes to provide is that all services are provided “on site” (like this? By pasting yourself into other people’s environments?) and that at present (which has been for many years) does  not have a store or business address.

He claims that his “technicians” will visit you at your place and will pick up and return computers when needed (after which they are supposedly brought to other places where the actual “work” is performed). However, we have received several stories from unfortunate customers that did not get their property returned at or within the agreed upon appointments. Not that it surprises us, such a level of unreliability appears to be a perfect match for the kind of character that Andre Leite Alves is and the kind of “company” that Aware Bear Computers represents.

We understand that Andre Leite Alves is hiding from the law firm that is pursuing him in relation to the copyright infringement and theft of the materials or Mr. Didak. However, this shady business of using many different addresses over the same periods of time pre-dates the pending litigation and must therefore indicate that Andre Alves does not wish his “business” to be traced and found.

Several people mentioned that they have demanded refunds for (dis)services rendered and other people suggest that this behavior with not having an actual address listed for his “business” (on its own site) and using various different ones implies that Andre and/or Aware Bear Computers are hiding from creditors and other trouble.

There might be something to that because when Mr. Didak offered that his attorneys deal directly with those of AwareBear, the response from Andre Leite Alves (signing the e-mails as “Arthur Leite”) was that he would only deal with a “Board Certified Attorney”.

Not only does this show a complete and utter lack of understanding about legal matters on the part of Mr. Alves but aparantly from that statement he made his only experience is with attorneys of the American Board of Certification which ONLY specializes in BUSINESS BANKRUPTCY, CONSUMER BANKRUPTCY and CREDITORS’ RIGHTS LAW.

Prior to Aware Bear Computers, Andre used to operate under the name “AA Computers” (or, as the once pretentious website read, AA Computers International). Well, international attention is definitely what Andre Alves has gained but probably not of the kind he desired. Screenshots and copies of the AA Computers domain and website have been made prior to the site pulling a vanishing act (it also ran off the frontier.net servers but the site was an adaptation from AA Computers with references replaced with “Aware Bear Computers” and “Aware Bear Repair”).

We know Andre is hiding from several problems that have come down upon him but we do wonder just how many more problems he’s been running and hiding from. If you are a problem that he’s hiding from, please do let us know and share your story.

In my experience, people that use fake home or business addresses and are hiding or running usually do so for good reason. Maybe he is also hiding from creditors or other businesses that pursue him over any wrongdoings. It takes considerable effort and experience to keep hiding. Could be that it is the only thing he’s an expert at.

Hiding and moving from home to home is typical behavior for criminals and debtors. Alves could very well be living in his car for all we know.
